Quote:

Zombies are the middle children of the otherworldly family. Vampires are the oldest brother who gets to have a room in the attic, all tripped out with a disco ball and shag carpet. Werewolves are the youngest, the babies, always getting pinched and told they're cute. With all that attention stolen away from the middle child zombie, no wonder she shuffles off grumbling, "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha."

Film Review: BLOODY APRIL FOOLS (aka LOS INOCENTES) (2013)

Bloody April Fools (better known as Los Inocentes) (2013) is a horror slasher from Spain that follows nine friends on their way to an April Fool’s Day party but then get sidetracked.  They never make it to the party but instead decide to stop at a nearby place called the 12 Hills inn that they soon learn has a curse upon it.  Over the course of the night each of the nine friends will be tested as the curse takes hold.

There is nothing remotely original in this straight forward slasher film that actually would have fared better in the ‘80s during the slasher boom but coming out now, the film is behind the times and not in the least bit interesting even if it hails from Spain.  The film comes off as a typical slasher film that could have at least used some cultural references to make it interesting.

The film has a list of over ten writers and directors and I’m surprised with that many people involved that there wasn’t a better result.  The film does start to pick up towards the end but it comes a little too late.  This is a film not worth the time.
